BIRD WATCHING

At the Blue Turtle Hotel, you will be suprised to see the number of different tropical bird species living in our garden.

But Tissamaharama and its surrouding have more to offer you. This part of Sri Lanka is one of the best places in the island to watch birds.

Every year, especially during the Northern winter season, hundreds of different migratory bird species come here to nest and avoid winter.
They will stay here for six months starting August.

Of course, the Bundala National Park is a must see for every bird lover. But another very interesting activity to do is to visit the Wirawila Sanctuary Bird Sanctuary.
